I am a mom to three kids, and I am passionate about yoga, pregnancy and birth. I believe that birth is a sacred rite of passage for both mom and baby. Whichever path is taken to birth, I believe it is important that moms feel empowered, and I hope to support moms in achieving this. I am honoured to be able to help moms prepare themselves physically, emotionally and spiritually for birth. I am also delighted to work with new moms and their little ones when they are on this side of the world.
In 2010, while I was pregnant with my youngest child, I trained under and was certified by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa, the founder and creator of Prenatal Yoga: The Khalsa Way, in a 60 hour intensive course at Golden Bridge Yoga in Los Angeles. I also trained at and was certified by Golden Bridge Yoga as a Mommy and Me postnatal yoga instructor. As well, I am a CAPPA trained labour doula.
I love teaching both prenatal and mom and baby yoga so much that I decided I wanted to teach other kinds of yoga as well. In February 2012 I completed a 200 hour teacher training course under Shakti Mhi at Prana Yoga Teacher College in Vancouver where I received certification as a Hatha yoga instructor. I’m so excited to expand my teaching at Maha Yoga.
