Nicole Garnsey
Nicole first experienced yoga while attending a meditation seminar in Vancouver when completing her degree in nursing. She was in search of stress reduction while learning the art of caring. The breathing techniques and visualizations learned made her realize there was something more to yoga. She returned to Regina and took a class from an old friend, someone she never imagined would be a yoga teacher. It was at that class she realized her teacher was connected with his inherent nature. This inspired her to follow in the same direction.
Nicole offers a yoga class that focuses on breath awareness, alignment and strength building. With 10 years of classical ballet training her teaching style incorporates movement between postures while using the breath to stay grounded.
Her yoga training is mostly influenced by Iyengar which took her to India in 2009 to study more and learn about different styles of yoga. Her interest in movement and the breath has led her to study the yoga of Donna Farhi in New Zealand and Anusara Yoga while in Maui.
Nicole is a certified Hatha Yoga teacher who has completed a 300 hour teacher training program under the direction and guidance of Colin Hall and Sarah Garden of Bodhi Tree Yoga, Regina.
