iRest®(Integrative Restoration), is a trauma sensitive adaptation of the ancient practice of Yoga Nidra, that is uniquely suitable for a Western audience. This evidence based practice has been developed over the past three decades by Richard Miller, PhD, clinical psychologist, author, researcher and yogic scholar.
iRest is a research based practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry that releases negative emotions and thought patterns, calms the nervous system, and develops an inner state of well-being and equanimity that underlies all circumstances you may encounter in your life. The practice of iRest supports the restoration of the body, mind and senses to their natural functioning.
Research has shown iRest effectively reduces –
- chronic pain
- chemical dependency
- as well as an overall increase in well-being
“Pam Robert’s offering of iRest Yoga Nidra is simply magical! iRest has provided me great comfort, and healing during a very difficult time in my life. I have been able to work through many things on a subconscious level due to this practice, and Pam’s soothing, nurturing, and loving energy.
Pam provides safety, and comfort for her students; something anyone dealing with stress, anxiety, PTSD, and/or depression will greatly appreciate. Pam shares the wisdom with her students, that there is nothing wrong, there is nothing to fix, nor change, and to just let everything be, just as it is. This is not an easy thing to grasp initially, however, with Pam’s loving kindness, and guidance, I promise you, it does get easier.
Pam provides the foundations for a life-long journey of self-compassion, and awareness. A bonus is the lovely voice recording of the iRest practice, recorded by Pam. The recording makes it easy to integrate the iRest practice into your daily life, and routine.
The beauty of iRest is that no practice, nor experience is ever the same. Each time I have entered an iRest practice, I leave with some new item of wisdom and/or truth; from the need to forgive, to the warmth of lightness in heart, and mind. I have left Pam’s class feeling safe, secure, calm, and confident. I have learned to listen to my heart more, to step out of my own head; to go a little deeper, and to linger a little longer. iRest has provided me with some very deep, and powerful realizations.
I honestly cannot recommend Pam’s iRest Yoga Nidra course enough! I encourage anyone, and everyone to try this profound practice. I am eternally grateful to Pam for introducing me to iRest, and for being such a wonderful, and compassionate teacher.”
